oh what a night

So I got up early and did laundry yesterday morning and then proceeded to go straight back to sleep. Damn. Alex, our street kid homie, comes a knockinŽon our door at 1 in the afternoon telling us we were late (he found our room by asking another friend in the hostel). We were supposed to meet him to go swimming at the beach but slept in and forgot. Anyway, we pulled our asses out of bed, put some deoderant on, and left for the beach on a beautiful sunny day. It was the first time weve seen sun in Europe and it was incredible. We really didnt want to leave. Got a tiny bit of color (Logan got a nice shade of pink, I got rosy cheeks), and then left for the Dali museum. A wonderful surprise was that it was free. I was really having trouble believing that because it was so cool, but whatever. Supposedly that was the small museum and there is a bigger, better one (the building was designed by Dali himself and hes buried somewhere around there) in a town a brief trainride away from here that we will hit up on our way out of Spain, whenever that is....I still never got ahold of my old neighbor which is very disappointing, but I think weŽll be heading south of here to Jeannies relatives in Seville. IŽm scared to call them and not be able to speak their language but I have faith all will work out like it always does. So onto last night...I guess it began with a few beers with friends at the hostel. We were all bored and wanted to get out dancing but had such a large crew of people that it was very difficult to get us all moving. Somehow, i think around 1:30am, we made the great exodus to a free dance club. We started the night with 2 shots of whiskey to get our money makers shaking to the reggae remixes and poppy salsa music. Bumped into many great people, mostly americans, who wanted to buy me and one of the girls i was with drinks. Let me tell you we got A LOT of free drinks from these crazy Texan boys...brothers, actually. We had trouble ditching them when the club closed and we headed back to the hostel. I dont much remember how we got back because we took such a roundabout way to get there, but we made it and had some tuna and bread outside in the beautiful early morning air. Almost saw the sunrise and I pulled a Logan and decided to get to bed before he woke up and wondered where I was, though everyone else decided it would be a better idea to sleep on the beach. IŽll save that for another night. Woke up this morning with 20 euros and my right contact missing and decided to get my free hostel breakfast, pay for another night, and say goodbye to our brasillian and colombian friends...good to know we have places to stay for when we make it to south america. Unfortunately the weather is rainy and crappy so well probably go to the Picasso museum and find some cheap grub. The great thing about being here with other brokeass travellers is that we all recommend the cheapest places for the most amount of whatever it is that you want (fruit, food, coffee, etc.) IŽm hogging this hostel computer because the keyboard makes it hard to type fast so I should probably plan something for the day. Happy birthday Jen if anyone reads this and talks to her. much love, Kat
