Entry: off to Spain... Monday, April 19, 2004

I'm in Rouen right now, just saw where Joan of Arc was burnt, and we're getting ready to catch a night train to Barcelona where I'll meet up with my old next door neighbor and see the sights.  Since I wrote last, we saw the Louvre, which is a blog post in and of itself, yet I don't have time to go into detail.  I saw venus de milo, the mona lisa, gorgeous ancient egyptian statues of Ramses II and a giant sphynx...several, actually, a real dead mummy, and much much more.  Many of the sights were breathtaking, and I really can't believe all that I've been so lucky to see.  Logan's just about shit his pants several times since we got to Paris and though I thought it was way too big at first and that I would hate being in a country where I can't understand the language, I've really really really enjoyed France, especially Paris.  So there, it's out in the open.  I've enjoyed my stay in  Paris and actually wish we had more time.

Anyway, we had the most incredible quiche EVER (mozzerella, tomato, and basil) and a glass of red wine before drinking another botttle of wine and passing out.  The Louvre took a lot out of us and though we had other plans for the night, we got a really good night's sleep instead.  Got up early this morning for the Picasso museum which was quite small, took no more than an hour to get through, but I really enjoyed.  I always liked Picasso but this museum, especially all the sculptures, made me appreciate his style a lot more.  Left the hostel and went to throw our bags in a locker at the train station which took an hour to find.  About 6 sets of directions in French didn't help at all.  I left my bag with Logan and ran all around looking for the lockers myself and finally succeeded.  Ditched our bags and made reservations for our train to Barcelona then left for here, Rouen.  Not much more to do than worry about how to make what's remaining in our bank account last through Spain so we can go back to Berlin and then to Prague to figure out what to do....it's not looking too far away now which makes me sad.  At least we get to go back to the wonderful recyling world of Germany again :)

That said, I've actually updated my blog 2 days in a row so comment or something and don't expect anything soon again.

Much love and early happy birthday to my big sister.
